• The Sony a7 V is built around a newly developed 33MP partially stacked Exmor RS full-frame sensor paired with the powerful BIONZ XR2 processor, delivering faster readout speeds, reduced rolling shutter, and up to 16 stops of dynamic range. This advanced sensor architecture enables blackout-free continuous shooting at up to 30 fps with full-time AF and AE, a top electronic shutter speed of 1/16000 second, and consistently high image quality across demanding photo and video workflows.
• Autofocus performance is driven by a dedicated AI Processing Unit borrowed from Sony’s flagship models, dramatically improving subject detection and tracking accuracy. With 759 phase-detection AF points covering approximately 94% of the frame, the a7 V can recognize and track humans, animals, birds, insects, and vehicles, using human pose estimation and Real-time Eye AF to maintain reliable focus even in crowded scenes or when subjects briefly move out of view.
• Video creators benefit from professional-grade recording options, including 7K-oversampled 4K recording at up to 60p using the full width of the sensor, plus high-speed 4K 120p and Full HD 240p modes for slow-motion capture. Enhanced heat dissipation supports longer recording times, while advanced tools such as S-Cinetone, S-Log3, LUT imports, Dynamic Active stabilization, breathing compensation, and AI-assisted Framing Stabilizer help produce polished, cinematic footage in-camera.
• Designed for reliability and flexibility, the a7 V features a rugged magnesium alloy body with extensive weather sealing, dual memory card slots for CFexpress Type A and SD Memory media, and a high-resolution 3.68m-dot OLED EVF paired with a versatile 4-axis multi-angle touchscreen LCD. Dual USB-C ports, a full-size HDMI output, advanced wireless connectivity, and strong battery performance make it a dependable choice for extended shoots, live streaming, and professional hybrid production.

Excellent image quality

The 33 megapixel sensor and BIONZ XR2 engine deliver up to 16 stops of dynamic range. Smooth shadow to highlight transitions enable effective HDR, while advanced noise reduction ensures high resolution across ISO 100 to 51200 for stills and video.
